About Me

Hello!

Welcome, welcome. My name is Keiro and I run this blog. I will be writing mostly about personal things, but also some tech stuff that relates to my interests.

From a young age, I was interested in technology. Specifically, computers, and therefore the wider web. This was a result of a computer that was set up with Windows 98 SE. Since that time, I’ve learned how to tear apart computers, put them back together and how operating systems worked in general.

In 2006 or so, I started diversifying into learning to work with Linux, specifically Ubuntu and eventually came to understand how hypervisors, networking and servers worked, leading to my professional career as a Technical Support Operator in 2017. This job mostly involves managing servers for customers and migrating websites, performing software upgrades.

I’ve also contributed code to several projects, namely Vultr support for the Mist.io platform and custom software scripts developed personally to make working as a systems administrator much easier on a day-to-day basis.

Hobbies

Battery Building and Battery Technology

I’ve gotten into learning more about how to build battery packs of various sizes for different applications, such as solar projects but typically my interest leans more towards e-bikes because I own an e-bike and have an interest in maintaining the e-bike personally.

Ever since learning about the right-to-repair movement, I’ve discovered the importance of learning how to maintain your own modes of transport and I own a Velotric Packer 1 e-bike. My first e-bike was actually the Lectric XP 3.0 when I was given the opportunity to jump to the 3.0 from the 2.0 because I had ordered the e-bike right as Lectric was transitioning to the XP 3.0.

I also maintain IRC servers for DarkMyst and UCSN.

Tea and Coffee

A friend of mine, Aesthemic has gotten me into learning more about how to brew a proper cup of Coffee™. In addition to that, I’m also working on learning to put my own blends of tea together as well, as I’m equally as fond of tea as I am of coffee.
