Tech I Use

I’ve often been asked about the tech I use on a regular basis. Here’s a list, in terms of how heavily I use them.

EmberDesktop

This one is my desktop. Yes, it’s got a cheesy nickname. I don’t have a very good imagination when it comes to naming things. Sorry. I game, do work and content production on this desktop. This all is set up on a Tiqlab L-shaped desk.

You can find the link to my hardware in this PCPartPicker link, along with how much I paid for the desktop config. And yes, these prices are accurate.

Emberberry

Radxa Rock 5B with 8GB RAM, set up with a 120GB NVMe SSD in a custom CaseLabs wooden case and logo design of my own. This one just hosts a small number of services.

PiHole

Raspberry Pi Zero 1.3v, the one with the wifi. This one has an ethernet adapter that’s connected to this Pi and exclusively runs PiHole, an ad-blocking platform that I use to reduce the chances of malware and other malicious scripts from gaining a foothold on my network.

Timekeeper

Raspberry Pi 4, 4GB with a GPS-backed Time hat. It serves time. And that is all it does. It is a stratum 1 time server.

Boxen

Dell PowerEdge R6415 Server

There are other devices I use also, but they’re not listed here because they’re either down or not ready for use yet, such as my little storage server and my server that I use for my homelab.
